چکیده
Background: Low-dose X-rays are commonly used in medical imaging to help the diagnosis ofdiseases. However, deleterious effects of exposure diagnostic low-dose remaina highly debated topic. The objective was study on humanblood cells.
Materials and Methods: We studied (80kVp), i.e.,0.01 or 0.05 mGy, after vitro human red blood cells (RBCs) peripheralblood mononucleated (PBMCs).Cells with no irradiation served as control group. biologicalendpoints that were determine hemolysisfor RBCs mitochondrial membrane potential, lysosomes, cell cycle for PBMCs.
Results: Ourresults showed changes hemolysis lysosome, orcell exposed these low doses when compared corresponding nonirradiatedcells at all harvest timepoints.
Conclusion: These results suggested there effectsof PBMCs vitro.

Evaluation of low dose diagnostic X-rays induced effect on the white blood cells count in Guinea pigs
Background: Exposure to ionizing radiation is known to have various effects on hematological parameters of biological sample. This study was aimed at evaluating the effect of ionizing radiation on some hematological parameters in guinea pigs. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six (36) apparently healthy adult guinea pigs of both sexes weighing between 700g – 1200...
متن کاملDetermination of hemolysis, osmotic fragility and fluorescence anisotropy on irradiated red blood cells as a function of kV of medical diagnostic X-rays
Background: People occasionally undergo medical diagnostic X-ray examinations and expose their red blood cells to radiation. Radiation that is generated from medical diagnostic X-ray machines is widely used in medical diagnoses. One of the important parameters is kilo-voltage (kV) that is applied across the X-ray tube in medical diagnostic X-ray machines. Kilo-voltage influences the radiation d...
متن کاملEffects of High Doses of X-Ray on Hematological Parameters and Morphology of Red Blood Cells in Human Blood
Introduction: The aim of the current study was to investigate the effects of X-ray radiation on some hematological parameters, morphology of red blood cells (RBC) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) analysis of human blood using computed tomography (CT) scanner. Material and Methods: For the purpose of the study, 5 ml of wholeblood was drawn from vein puncture of 28 healthy people and div...
متن کاملRadioprotective effects of selenium and vitamin-E against 6MV X-rays in human blood lymphocytes by micronucleus assay
Background: Critical macromolecules of cells such as DNA are in exposure to damage of free radicals that induced from the interaction of ionizing radiation with biological systems. Selenium and vitamin-E are natural compounds that have been shown to be a direct free radical scavenger. The aim of this study was to investigate the radioprotective effect of selenium and vitamin-E separately and sy...
متن کاملEffects of Recombinant Human Erythropoietin (rHuEpo) on the Blood Cells and Hematopoiesis in Spleen of Rats
Recombinant human erythropoietin is a glycoprotein hormone that stimulates erythropoiesis. In clonogenic assays of hematopoietic progenitors, high concen-trations of erythropoietin (Epo) increase CFU-E and diminish the number of granulocytes formed per culture plate. Fetal progenitors are more sensitive to these effects of Epo than progenitors from adults. We administered doses 50, 100, 200 IU/...
